As a Gentle Sleep Coach and Registered Nurse, it is my mission to educate and support families along the journey of parenthood. I offer personalized sleep solutions that are customized to the child's unique needs while matching the individual parenting style. As a gentle sleep coach I will support, educate, empower the family as we work throughout their sleep challenges and create goals in which we will work towards achieving. I will help families address sleep challenges that include but not limited to: bedtime battles, gradually dropping nighttime feedings, sleeping through the night, early morning rising, establishing nap schedules, nap transitions, moving from the crib into a bed, and much more. Additionally I offer prenatal education and support to help prepare you for pregnancy, labour, and bringing your newborn(s) home. As well as, postpartum support and education to help you feel competent in caring for yourself and your newborn
The Gentle Sleep Coach Program is the first and most extensive professional sleep coach training and certification program available. The program involves over 80 hours of training with an extensive faculty panel that includes medical doctors, psychologist, lactation counsellor, postpartum doulas, family therapist, occupational therapist, and an attorney. Following the training each coach must pass exams and participate in case mentorships with Kim West, LCSW-C (a.k.a. “the Sleep Lady”) who has been helping tired parents for over 20 years. Clinical mentorship and ongoing advanced training are also required to maintain certification as a Gentle Sleep Coach.
The GSC Program also includes an exclusive advanced training specifically focused on babies 0-5 months of age. This specialty training is designed to give Gentle Sleep Coaches the knowledge, education and all the tools and resources they need to successfully work with families of newborns through 6 years of age in a safe, healthy and developmentally appropriate manner.
Since birth my daughter has been a horrible sleeper and we just did what we could to get whatever sleep was possible. We tried everything before finally asking for help. In such a short amount of time my child’s sleep improved. She went from napping only in our arms and sleeping in bed with us waking up multiple times a night to putting herself to sleep in her crib for naps & bedtime and sleeping through the whole night. It is exactly what we and she needed.
